About Us:

83 West (First Level) and 29 North at 83 West (Elevated Dining on Second Level) are family owned and operated restaurants located at 310 Dock Street in Cedar Key.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and serving freshly made seafood and more. As a small business, we have the luxury to make your experience with us intimate and exceptional through seasonally revolving menus and an updated and clean atmosphere. As a small business, we have set forth some general rules and policies for guests to ensure that our business can remain open, be successful, and continue to serve the community we love. Please keep in mind, that like most other small businesses, we are constantly adapting to rising costs, labor and product shortages, and even more unexpected hurtles daily that all effect our operations. Please review some policy and business standards we have to help keep pricing stable and overall experience for all customers up to our rigid standards for exceptional service.

To ensure the safety and experience of all guests, these policies are subject to change at any time, for any circumstance deemed appropriate by management, especially during holidays and special event weekends.

Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions:

Please make the server aware of ANY AND ALL food allergies or restrictions BEFORE ordering. We will take any and all restrictions seriously, and we will accommodate to the best of our ability.

Please read the item description before ordering. Items ordered in error by the customer may require a replacement at the customer’s expense.

Items that are modified from the original menu item in any way may incur an up-charge to accommodate the modification. Please be aware that some of these special preparations may take extra time in our kitchen.

If there is an issue with the quality of your food, please let your server know immediately and we will gladly remake or replace the item with another. We do not remove items from a bill without replacing the item with a similar item. It is also at the discretion of our management to determine if your request for a replacement meal is warranted at no charge to you.

Reservations and Seating:

We do not take reservations, we are first come, first served. For priority seating, please consider joining our VCR Rewards Program. Restrictions Apply - See the VCR Details Page for Details.

29 North Elevating Dining:

We also only seat parties up to 8 guests at one table. Larger parties will be asked to split between available tables. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE YOUR TABLE AND PLEASE RESPECT THIS POLICY!

Every table in the restaurant has a view of the Gulf of Mexico. We do not guarantee tables next to the window at any time, or for any party size. We seat on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to wait for a table next to the window, you may forfeit your spot “in line” if you would like, but we will not guarantee a time when a table next to the window will be available, as there may be other guest that requested the same.

Children under 12 must accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 at each table. Parties of 5 or more are too large to sit at tables directly next to the windows and will be placed at other tables that best accommodate the party’s size. Yes, this does include small infants and children. Children must remain seated at a table during your visit unless accompanied by an adult.

Large Party reservations are available for a venue rent-out fee. Reservations may be available for some special events, and will be announced on our 83 West and our 29 North Facebook Pages.

83 West (First Level):

This dining experience is what we consider as “casual” - tables can be moved if they are available, and larger groups can congregate and sit as they please as long as they are not interrupting other guests. This concept is 100% counter service dining. All guests of 83 West must see the bartenders at the bar for all food, drinks, and service. If you are sitting on our dining deck with a pet, you are encouraged to leave the pet outside with a member of your party, but you can briefly order at the bar and ask bartender for assistance if needed. Please also note that due to the nature of our fresh food production and having only one kitchen servicing two dining areas, food at 83 West may have longer than average wait times, and orders placed at separate times, even for the same party, will come as soon as the kitchen is able to produce those items. If you would prefer a streamlined, full-service dining experience, please join us at 29 North at 83 West located on the second level of the restaurant.

Pricing:

Due to rising inflation and our desire to try and keep food prices stable during this turbulent time, our menu pricing is now a discounted Cash Price. A 3.5% surcharge will apply to all Non-Cash payments.

The COVID19 Pandemic:

Please be aware that Levy County has never had a mask mandate for COVID19. We have always followed all county and local restrictions, but we do not REQUIRE guests or staff to wear masks or be vaccinated. We have limited outdoor seating and open-air dining (weather permitting) downstairs at 83 West. 83 West dining options may be limited during certain times of the year, so please inquire if you are planning a visit and would require outdoor dining.

To-Go Food:

To ensure the best service for our in-house guests, To-Go orders may not be available during peak times when our restaurant is on an extended wait.

Dining With Animals:

We get it- we LOVE our pets, but unfortunately, we only have a limited space where pets can join for dining, There is an outdoor dining deck located to the left side of the 83 West dining area in which pets are free to join you at any time, Only SERVICE DOG or ANIMALS defined by the state of Florida are allowed to dine inside the building. You will be asked 1) if your animal is a service animal, and 2) what task is the animal trained to do to assist you in your disability. If the service that the dog provides is not an ADA specified, medically necessary task, your dog will not be allowed to dine inside the building. This is pursuant with the rules of the State of Florida, and the ADA. Please note: crime deterrence, safety or the provision of comfort or emotional support do not constitute "work or tasks" under the ADA. ESAs are not considered service animals. This also applies if only one of the group of dogs is defined as a service animal. Only service animals will be permitted to dine inside, and we ask that the dog please remain on the floor at all times.

If you have questions regarding the rights of our business to allow service animals, please contact Disability Rights Florida at 1-800-342-0823 - or if you have problems at our restaurant associated with your service animal.

Thank you for your time and consideration of our policies! Entering our building and interaction with our staff is an automatic assumption of these business policies.

Please note that we empower all of our employees to enforce any of these policies at all times. These policies are designed to help The Restaurants of 83 West serve the most guests as possible with the service and value our guests have come to know and love for over 7 years. We kindly ask that all guests respect these policies and follow them when enjoying our experiences. Disrespect for our staff and policies will not be tolerated in any form. If we feel that any disrespect is shown to our employees, other guests, or our policies, you will be asked to leave and they will no longer be able to dine with us in the future.

We appreciate your continued support and patronage.

Sincerely,

83 West Owners and Management
