On September 2nd, 2016, many Cedar Key businesses and residents were devastated by a category 1 hurricane, Hermine. The newly remodeled lower level of 83 West was very badly damaged by the rising tides and crashing waves caused by the storm. From November 2015 to May 2016, the building of 310 Dock Street, formerly the Seabreeze Restaurant, underwent an extensive renovation that completely transformed the old building into a new showcase of Cedar Key. After only being open for 3 short months, 83 West was forced to close and undergo emergency renovations to allow the restaurant to reopen on the second floor of the building.
A Go Fund Me Page has been started by a family member to help in the process of rebuilding this Cedar Key landmark, once again.
Please Check our EVENTS CALENDAR for events benefiting the city of Cedar Key, it's businesses and residents.
83 West wants to thank EVERYONE who have helped in relief, cleanup, and rebuilding efforts. The love and support shown by everyone in our greatest time of need was truly amazing, and we will never be able to thank you all enough.
Cedar Key is a small community in which each business depends on the success of the community to thrive. 83 West was not the only business greatly effected by Hermine's destruction. Please consider donating to fellow Cedar Key businesses.
